Another crazy week. I seem to be doing 3 workshops most days at the moment. Schools, after school clubs, family learning projects. All sorts.
High on the agenda at the moment is Preston’s Mela festival. A celebration of Asian culture to be held on Avenham park on 6th June. Yours truly (on behalf of the wonderful Dynamic New Animation– puppetry and visual theatre) is running 3 sets of workshops with local kids, to produce 3 shadow puppetry productions which we will be performing on the day. Here is a sneaky peak of some of our characters so far.
On a Monday afternoon, I am currently working with Mum’s and kids at Millbank Court, Preston. This week we were working with modelling clay. One of the youngsters made the most amazingly realistic pen from the stuff.
I’ve also been decorating plant pots and planting sunflowers with my family after school clubs in Blackpool,
and putting together an exhibition to showcase the work of my girls after school arts group at Lostock Hall High. This included the film that we made and the award that we won for it! This evening was the opening of the exhibition and I was very proud of all my girls.
